Eating out
Kerry is less than a mile away and has 2 pubs , 1 with
restaurant. For evening meals on Friday and Saturday it is
advisable to book in advance.
Guests are welcome to bring take-away meals to eat in the dining
room. A minibus service is available from Kerry and taxis from
Newtown are also available
KERRY
 The Kerry Lamb
Newly refurbished with bar, restaurant, lounge and beer
garden. The bar offers guest ales from local breweries while
the restaurant is an
ideal place to relax and enjoy locally produced good food in a
warm and friendly atmosphere. A pool table is in a room adjacent
to the bar.
The Herbert Arms
A traditional pub with cosy
atmosphere offering real ales. The lounge includes a Nintendo
Wii and a pool table is in a room adjacent to the bar.
NEWTOWN
Newtown is 3 miles away and has a number of restaurants and
pubs:
 The Wagon and Horses
Outstanding pub restaurant and winner of Wales Chef of the
Year 2008 and 2009. Traditional pub with a contemporary
restaurant at the rear. Its a gem of a restaurant in the
heart of Montgomeryshire.
 Mirrens
Steak and Tapas Bar offers the ultimate cooking experience by
providing your meal served on lava stones, heated to 440 degrees
c. They also offer a tapas menu and their own thin crust pizzas
with a choice of BBQ or fresh tomato sauce. The restaurant is warm and inviting and outside there is a
terrace with twinkly lights.
La Terrazza
Traditional Italian restaurant with friendly hosts and a
great atmosphere. Excellent food and a welcoming atmosphere

Eating in
As parents of young children we regret that we cannot offer an evening meal service.
We do however have a number
of options we can offer guests who prefer to stay in.
Light takeaways and ready meals
Guests are welcome to bring light takeaway away
food or ready meals to eat in the dining
room where plates and cutlery are provided.
Please not pungent dishes such as Indian
or Chinese due to their strong aroma.
Kitchenette for simple meals
 A
kitchenette with microwave, boiling ring, fridge with freezer
and sink is available at all times. Guests may wish to keep
food, wine or beer cool and are welcome to prepare baby and
children's meals or to heat their own ready meals.
Simple meals may be prepared but it is not suitable for self
catering.
Fresh milk for tea and coffee is also kept there for guests to
help themselves.
There is a bar table with 2 stools or meals may be eaten in
the dining room or outside on the patio in warm weather.
Catered Dinner
For groups of 4 to 10 people we can arrange for a meal to be
custom prepared for you at The Forest. Celebrate a special
occasion, a birthday or just prefer a cosy night in with
friends.
